New design for same model Feb 11, 2011
By olderbutwiser Excellent quality. I have always been satisfied with Drive products and this is my second toilet frame from them.
Buyers should know that the currently shipping model #12000-4 has a different design than the previous generation carrying that SAME model number. The old 12000-4 is shown in the picture Amazon displays today - white armrests and two positions for setting the width. The actual shipping units now have grey armrests and three holes for setting the width. The adjusting clips are set at different angles so the parts are not interchangeable between the two versions. Two of the clips in the new handles are removable pins instead of the usual spring buttons.
FYI - if you are looking for white and think the model 12001KD1 is an option, the same holds true for that one. The Amazon photo shows the white version but what ships is a grey unit virtually identical to the 12000-4.

Pleased with product May 22, 2011
By EPM Installed two. Fast shipping and relatively easy to assemble, install and adjust with minimal tools. No instructions but the pictures on the box provide visual guidance. Recommend a 10mm or adjustable wrench and pliers to install the two frame bolts securely. The mounting bracket is secured by the toilet seat's mounting screws and removing/replacing them (which requires bending and/or kneeling) is the most physically challenging assembly task. Less intrusive than raised plastic seats and (like many adaptive products) adds comfort to the "reading room" for non-disabled users.

Drive Medical toilet safety rail Sep 06, 2011
By Barbara Bought The Drive Medical Toilet safety frame rail for my husband to use...By adjusting the rail for his height it works very well. He is able to get up easily. I hooked it up to the toilet myself which was very EASY. I would recommend this item..Much cheaper than in a local store. I would also recommend Amazon

By son My mother loves it. The only thing that caught me was you have a 50/50 chance you'll connect the two arm pieces incorrectly - I did. It was an easy enough fix to turn the short arm piece 180 degrees though. If I had taken the time to check the alignment of the short arm piece's snap buttom to the flange bride I wouldn't have made the mistake.
