 Not just Over-the-Bed! Great for sofas Jun 26, 2009

I bought this to use as a laptop desk for sitting at the sofa and I couldn't be happier. It's also great for eating in front of the TV, which is admittedly a bad habit. I haven't tried to use it in bed, but I'm sure it's great for that too, assuming your bed isn't too tall.
The ability to adjust the height and angle makes for a highly ergonomic fit. This table accommodates and provides stable support for my heavy, 17" gaming laptop and still has room for a fat wrist rest and full-sized mouse pad for my wireless mouse. While its looks could be sexier (in a perfect world, the tray would be made of wood, metal or frosted glass instead of plastic), it WAS dsigned as a medical aid, and its functionality could not be better. At some point I may take some plastic spray paint to the tray top, but it's not truly offensive looking so I haven't bothered at this time.
In a nutshell, I highly recommend.

The table is sturdy and nicely adjustable, and the worktop size is adequate for laptop and notebook. However, I found that the lack of extension on the table top from the support made much of the worktop unusable unless you can balance yourself right on the edge of the bed. The maximum height is also barely enough to clear a deep mattress and boxspring on a frame. Getting in and out of bed on your own with this desk is also very difficult, it doesn't just swing away so you have to lean out to roll it aside as you're working to get up. On carpet, it takes some effort to get it out of the way especially if you're 8 months pregnant. I also purchased an AirDesk and although it provides a lot less work space, I really like that it's designed for a laptop, can be adjusted very high (designed for sitting or standing), and can just swing away effortlessly.

I was really excited to get this table but, when it came it had no instructions and no packing materials. The side long bar could not go down into the sleeve.

The Overbed table has a durable base but a flimsy table. Instructions are poor, but you can assemble it based on the photo. Also, the height adjustment knob is strange; it attaches to what appears to be a blocked hole that pushes a thin metal inward to raise the table height. The knob doesn't look secure because the knob bolt doesn't screw into a hole; it just pushes a metal to prevent the base from falling. It's unfortunate that the table top is flimsy and that the bolt doesn't have a complete hole to secure the height. I use it as a table for meals and for laptop use, but I fear that the plastic table will crack. Be gentle with it.

* Good point of views ; ^^*
1. The design is perfect to use this on the bed, the wheel chair or where you want to be.
2. The tray can be tilted up with many angles.
3. It is really good to use for a computer, switch toys, art works or books.
4. The pivot have three angles; 180 degree, around 70 degree(or 80? I'm not sure) and 90 degree.
This feature allows us to use this tray on the wheel chair.
5. U base is good for the bed, the wheel chair, or the chair.
6. The delievery was so quick.
I ordered this on Monday and receive it on Friday.

1. The delievery was so quick in 4 days but there were broken parts so I could not use this properly.
The try got some crack and one of handle was totally broken.
2. I hope the tray could be larger than this.
This is 23.5 w (almost 24 w), 15.5 l (almost 16 l)
but I hope this could be 30 w 20 l (or 16 l).
3. No explaination how to assemble.
When I assembled this the direction it was so poor to explain.
4. There are three handles but I have to screw each one whenever I need to change the position of this tray.
It's OK but especially for me I have a wrist ache so it's not good for me.
5. No replacement available.
When I contacted with Amazon.com to ask the replacement, this is an unavailable replacement product.
So I have to return and reorder it if I want to have this one.
Kind of burden to me!!!
Conclusion---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Even if it has bad points of views it almost meets what I need.
So I want to order this from a different company not from this company!!!
Hopefully this time there would be no problems in delivering.
I want to give 4 stars but I have never got any problem like a BROKEN PRODUCT !!!
