Versatile table with many uses Jun 25, 2010
By Terry

I bought this table for use in my mother's bedroom. She is elderly and in the last stages of illness, so she spends a lot of time in bed. It was the price that influenced me to purchase this particular table, along with the greater height adjustment, and it has turned out to be an excellent choice!
It arrived with significant damage to the box due to shipping, but the packing is excellent and there was no damage to the contents. The instructions for assembly are very poor and it took about 20 minutes to get the table put together, but it is solid and well designed. The materials are heavy duty and of excellent quality. The casters, although plastic, roll smoothly, swivel for easy movement, and two of them have a locking mechanism. The table top is a very dark, wood grain patterned laminate, with a textured finish. (I'm not sure where the "silver vein" color name comes from. It is a very dark - almost espresso - color.) I like the textured finish as it keeps things from sliding off too easily. There is a lever on one end of the table for height adjustment. It is also designed to easily raise with slight pressure under the table top. My mother's bed is quite high and this table readily adjusts to the right height for use.
My only complaints are that the assembly instructions are terrible, and that the size of the table top could be a little larger. It is 15" x 30" - apparently the standard size for over bed tables of this type. It is certainly adequate for a meal or laptop, but not much room for anything else. Still, because of the almost infinite height adjustments, I am considering getting a couple more for my family to use as laptop tables.

Not what we expected! Aug 20, 2010
By Lisa S. After reading the other reviews, we were looking forward to receiving this table for our mother who is confined to bed. As another reviewer stated, the item did come well packaged. However, none of the instructions and hardware pieces matched. After finally getting it assembled, the moment of truth arrived. It is adjustable; however it doesn't lock easily and "pops" up. This could spell disaster if we had food or other items on the table. Also the lever used to adjust the height is plastic, am not sure about it's durability over time.
Rather than spending money to send it back, I will be donating it to our local equipment bank. Perhaps others don't require the flexibility to often adjust heights and have it securely lock in place. If that is a requirement of yours, think twice before purchasing!

Good table-but change in hardware numbering needed! Mar 29, 2011
By Aubrey C This table was great for what I wanted it for (study and work on laptop in bed) and I read other reviews on other tables before I selected this one. However, I wanted to let others know that though it was easy to assemble in most aspects by the written directions (after I called drivemedical and found that there was a mistake in the hardware numbering on this product), there is a site they direct you to that is better and tells you the number 4 screw and nut in the directions is actually meant to be the number four nut and the number 14 screw. The site is free and is a how to based on this model which is a 13067 on their site. It is www.drivetech.info. The table works well for my needs and hold up to 40 lbs I think (I will never need to use that much weight on it, so I doubt it will ever cause a problem). It is like the hospital tables but I am sure it cost less and due to prime membership it was shipped free. Just remember the different screw and be careful when you remove the screw you are to remove off the post as it shoots up immediately! Good table for money spent and I like the dark color. Enjoy if you decide to buy!
