4Perfect Post Hip Surgery  Mar 30, 2010 By Traci Preston "Saucy T"
I purchased 2 of these toilet seat extenders in preparation for hip replacement surgery. I am glad I chose a model with arms as this was most helpful the first week or two at home. My bathrooms did not have bars or things to use to push up. I am a size 14 woman with slightly larger than average hips and I just comfortably fit between the arms. Granted, due to the open nature of the sides, most could fit but it may not be as pleasant of an experience getting on and off. I am also 5'2" so had to get used to my feet not touching the floor - you learn to do anything when you have to! It was easy to assemble arms and to fit to toilets. My toilets are different, one oval and one round, and it worked on both. It is easy to clean.

5excellent product  Aug 08, 2009 By Bruce E. Stapleton
My wife suffers from an arthritic knee and has difficulty rising from the toilet. The elevated seat has helped her immensely. Also, it is very easy to install, remove and to clean. We recommend it highly.

5Elevated Toilet Seat Review  Apr 07, 2010 By James M. Callaghan
I purchased the Locking Elevated Toilet Seat with padded removable arms and free shipping from Amazon.com on 03/05/2010. I have weak upper leg muscles that make it difficult for me to climb steps and get up from chairs and toilets. This toilet seat with the padded arms now makes it easy for me to get up from toilets. Most toilets are too low for me to get up from with little effort. In addition, many toilets in hotels and motels do not have fixtures around them that I can use my arms to 'push" myself up from the toilet with, such as a bathroom adjacient tub, sink counter, or the sink counter is too tall for me to use.

The Locking Elevated Toilet Seat is just what I need in a home and on the road traveling and stopping at hotels or motels along the way. The padded arms help me to easily 'push' myself up from the seat and the locking mechanism lets me easily lock the seat to the toilet for safety Medline Locking Elevated Toilet Seat with Arms. The easy to use seat lock lets me quickly install and remove the seat from the toilet, which is a good feature if you do not want to keep the seat attached to the toilet at home. Finally, the seat is comfortable to use and easy to clean. The removable arms make the seat more compact for travel and storage.

1Extremely Dangerous  Dec 04, 2010 By B. Gentry
This product put my elderly father in the hospital with a broken hip because it does not secure firmly to the toilet. Please purchase hand-bars or some other product that has a better method for securing itself to the toilet. The single plastic pressure screw used to clamp to the porcelain in the toilet bowl is far to prone to slippage when weight is applied unevenly. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS product for your own safety.
