5Relief When Needed  Jan 31, 2010 By Frank Iacobucci "iaco8"
I do a lot of traveling around the world. Sometimes the tour guides do a lot of talking while you are standing. My problem is not walking as much as standing. The cane is very handy if you need help with stability but the seat is a lifesaver if you can't stand still. On one occasion people in the group offered more money for the seat than I paid. Everyone wanted to know where I purchased it.

3Used properly, this is a good resting stool  Jan 07, 2011 By R. Rousseau "ReenieSR"
The sales details do not discuss this, nor have any of the reviews I have read-- but in the instructions with the stool/cane model that I purchased, the recommended seating style is 'backwards'.

It is better to grasp the cane and fold the seat down facing you and STRADDLE the seat, holding the handle in front of you. With your two feet on the ground in front of you, it aids your center of gravity. Holding the handle also allows you to easily stand up with assistance of your own body weight.

I think perhaps the folks who rate this cane/seat as unsteady or not sturdy may be attempting to sit in it like a chair, using the handle as a backrest. Try turning around and see if the straddle position works better! It does for me. Of course, if you are wearing a skirt, it might be a bit unladylike-- but Give it a Go!

This is a very light weight but very functional device. I love it! It is well made and strong.

4great portable seat  Dec 05, 2009 By Teresa
This item is wonderful for people who have little endurance or need to sit down while walking periodically. The fact that it is a cane seems to be okay but secondary to tell the truth. Nice and light to carry.

4Nice product  Jun 24, 2010 By Garry "garry"
The product arrived intact in a well-packaged box on the day promised. Purchased this for my grandmother. The good part: it is very helpful as a seat and at the same time folds neatly into a cane. We found it handy and helpful for all the long tourist trips while you wait in line or wait for the car. The bad part: after you get up from the seat and dont fold it properly, it tends to open up into a seat while walking-a minor design issue. That and the fact that it was slightly heavier; hence it loses a star on the rating. Would otherwise recommend this product to anyone who cannot stand or walk for long.
