5Exactly met our needs  Sep 10, 2010 By Brooke E. Smith
We have a small bathroom, which I as a nonmechanically inclined person had to fit out to accommodate my husband who came home finally from the skilled nursing center after having his left foot amputated. I was able to easily fit the unit together, and it took just seconds to link it to the toilet. It raises the level of the toilet seat four inches, which he found sufficient (I'd looked at other types of raised toilet seat/rails combinations that added five inches, but required a more complicated installation). We're both larger-than-average people, so there's a slight feeling of "squinchiness" when sitting, but that can easily be alleviated by removing one of the rails (he only needs to use one), which actually can be done while seated. With a little practice, he has gotten to the point he can use the unit safely by transferring from a walker without my assistance or supervision. It's also easy to clean, and because of the quickness of installation, could certainly be tucked in a car trunk for traveling.

Yes, it costs more than some other raised toilet seat/rail combos, but I've definitely found it worth every penny, especially for someone like me who needed to create a safe toilet without wrenches or pliers.
