Advantages:
Very light: 5 ounces instead of a couple pounds.
Folds: in half for storage.
Picks up small items: Throw a dollar bill or dime on the floor, picks it up easily!
Locks: After grasping throw a switch to lock jaws closed on item.
Pistol grip: Easy aiming.
Sturdy: Mine still works as new after a year.
Disdvantages:
Heavy items: Cannot not pick 'em up, the smallest Cambells Soup can is the limit.
I cannot imagine a better one is made. Buy a heavy duty model for heavy items, and use this one the other 95% of the time.

I just had surgery, and this has been extremely helpful to me. I know I will use it even after healing, as I also have arthritis. I have only had this for about one week, but have used it a lot. It does seem pretty sturdy and grips cans etc very well. The lock works very well. I gave it a 4, since there is always room for improvement.

the product was in good quality except the middle wand lock did not stay open securely when used

I loved it at first but I've gone through two in one month. They both broke off one of the suction cups and after they fall off the whole thing doesn't work anymore. Would have been great if it didn't break but I'm not about to buy a third one :(

This grabber is to light or flimsy for me.
It would be good for paper type things.
I tried to pick up a can of corn and was unable to retrieve it.
I broke a glass because it was unable to grasp it.
