The stool from Improving Lifestyles has a commercial steel coating. Better than I expected from the chrome picture. Very sturdy and exactly what I wanted in my physical therapy clinic.

This was purchased for my 77 year old mother. She had back surgery earlier this summer, so getting around isn't as easy as it used to be for her. My parents just purchased a new mattress set and it makes their bed quite a bit higher than their old one. My father remembered having to use one of these foot stools in their doctor's office, so he asked me to try and find one for my mother for her birthday. And that was very easy to do at "Amazon.com". It's exactly what he wanted -- needless to say, he and my mother were very excited when seeing it -- and so was I. Thanks, thanks, thanks!

Very sturdy and easy to put together. Got this for a heavy female in an assisted living facility. It also arrived quickly. I am very pleased.

I purchased this step stool for my mother-in-law. She is older and has difficulty getting into her SUV. The fact that it has a handle on it to help stabilize her and it makes entry into her vehicle safer and easier. This also would make a nice step stool that you could keep in your kitchen to assist you in reaching plates or anything in a high position in a pantry or cabinet for those that might be height challenged.

Very nice. Feels sturdy. I contacted the manufacturer prior to purchase to check the weight capacity (300 lbs). So nice to have the handle to steady yourself with when you are reaching high into cupboards. Was a breeze to assemble...just stick the handle into the holes until the button pops. Took about five seconds.
