cane is advertised as "GEL GRIP" however there is no gel grip handle. the only reason why i bought it was because i wanted a gel grip comfortable handle waste of time and money. item not as described

4If only I could figure out how to fold it back up....  Aug 02, 2010
I really like this cane except for one thing. The only directions I found did not include how to re-fold it. When I pulled it out of the package and straightened it, it "sproinged" open immediately and locked somehow before I knew what was happening. My eyesight is not real good, so maybe there's an obvious (to others) way to fold it back up. When I get a chance, I'll ask my daughter about it.

I don't think I should have to ask anyone else, though. I can read (with magnification) and instructions should be all I require. And, no, the magnification does not help with seeing how to fold it -- perhaps because it's black and that makes it hard for me to see details on it. (Maybe I should have gotten a blue one, but black goes with everything and I didn't realize it could be a problem.)

There IS a white plastic partial ring around it which doesn't seem to do anything at all. It's loose and moves around freely. (The black ring underneath can be unscrewed, but it seemed to make no difference when I loosened it completely.)

It seems an excellent cane, otherwise, and all I need is to be able to fold it.

3It's functional, sturdy but NOT much more.  Aug 01, 2010
The black one has a hard painted handle thus the lower price. That fact is kind of hidden in the description. I only bought it for the 2 day shipping. I also ordered a good walking stick monopod from China but needed something cheap a fast. It is sturdy enough but has no other features like a spiked tip so I imagine the rubber tip will wear out quickly. It's works for a cheap backup.

4no Gel Grip  Jul 12, 2010
this cane worked firmly and giggle free for this very low price, but I received a solid black handle not the "Gel Hand Grip" as described. the grip is comfortable but thick, so it may not be suitable for people with small hands. the height adjustment has a locking ring for extra safety, but some may have difficulty aligning the lock button, so this cane may not be suitable for visually or mentally challenged users.

4Very practical, fits in your handbag  May 17, 2010
The price was great for this very practical folding cane that can fit in one's handbag.
