This is a great aid for disabled people needing a higher seat. It's opening is a larger diameter than the toilet seat, so it tends to stay relatively clean. It's hinged action lets you swing it out of the way during bathroom cleaning.

What we received is better described as a hinged riser than a toilet seat, as you need to place your existing seat on top of this unit, then secure both of them to the toilet with the two long bolts provided.
This unit added about three inches to the rim height, so 14+ inches became 17+ inches, plus another inch or more when we installed our existing toilet seat on top of this product.
Instead of the large contoured gasket described in the instructions, we received two rubber washers several inches in diameter. A bit disappointing, but it does work.
Overall this is much nicer than what we had been using. The previous high seat had to be removed weekly for cleaning, and needed more cleaning because the hole in the doughnut (so to speak -- sorry to be crude) was smaller. And it's nice to have a cover.

FIRST ONE WAS RETURNED DUE TO POOR FINISH.
SECOND ONE FINISH WAS BETTER BUT NOT PERFECT.

This thing is great. It saved me from having to buy an extra tall toilet. I use it on an extended style 15 3/4" tall toilet along with assist arms bolted under the seat and the combo is way better than any ADA compliant public restroom I've used. The bolts supplied have wing nuts that jam against the toilet and are easy to tighten during installation. No fumbling under the bowl. It's been in place for a month and it's still tight. It's design allows plenty of room front to rear.
