After surgery, I needed the type of foot stool one sees in a doctor's office (handle on the end), because I have a new bed that is very high. I found this on Amazon far cheaper than on other sites, including the vendor's site. It came within days--my only criticism is that the assembly instructions were not specific as to the direction of the specialized type of nuts that were included--in addition, I was not strong enough to attach them to the bolts. However, my son had no problem--and it is assumed that most men would be able to assemble this easily, in minutes. Other than that, it is a fine product.

Bought one. The day it arrived I bought a second.
It's light enough my 85 year old mother can move it around in her closet, but it is sturdy and as far as I'm concerned I don't have to worry about tipping.
The second was for my wife,----------and me.

I purchased this for my elderly mother to replace a cheap flimsy plastic step stool she had and almost fell off of. This metal step stool is very sturdy and doesn't slip and slide like the plastic one. The support handle helps my mother feel more secure when stepping up to reach into kitchen cabinets.

A while ago it became apparent that either my upper cupboards were actually moving up, or else I was shrinking. Well, you know the answer to that -- I was shrinking. The pull chains for the ceiling fans were no longer within my reach. I needed help! I already had a 9" high foot stool, but no handle, and I definitely needed a handle. Enter the Duro-Med Foot Stool with Support Handle. This is a wonderful product -- very sturdy, very solid, and very helpful. The 10"x14" foot surface is ample. I am really enjoying this product.

Sturdy and easy to assemble Aug 11, 2010

We bought this to assist elderly relatives with getting in and out of our SUV. With the higher wheelbase it was a problem any time we wanted to go somewhere and they would sometimes beg off rather that hassling with getting in and out of the car. This step stool provides a stable platform and a hand rail for them to use. It is very sturdy and the seniors in the family feel secure using it. Now when the family goes out,we all go, no one is left behind and that is a good thing.
