Note that the height is adjustable. Very strong and well made. Apr 06, 2007

It's not mentioned in the description but the bottom part of the legs adjust by screwing in and out of the top part of the legs. This provides about a 5 inch range of height adjustment. With the legs fully extended, the height of the seat is about 21 inches. The bench is very strong and well made from molded plastic. There is no hardware - the legs slide into the base and lock in position. You would need to use a pen or something to depress the locking button when you want to remove the legs. This bench is also available with a backrest from amazon, but it costs $58 versus the bargin price or $25 for this one without the back. Here is the amazon page for the same bench including back: [...]

Great purchase Jan 14, 2008
By Christine M. Strzelecki

We bought this bath bench to replace the standard shower chair with a back and aluminum legs. This bath bench is SO MUCH BETTER - it is sturdier (and I'm a woman of ample size), easier to keep clean and because of the way the legs are constructed, no water can get inside them, so no kind of rusty/crusty-looking spots to worry about. Plus, the feet of this bath bench are much thicker and sturdier rubber than the conventional shower chair. That was why we had to toss our old one -one of the rubber feet wore through and we were afraid the bathtub would get scratched. Replacement feet were pretty expensive and in any case, as pleased as I am with this bath bench, it's probably a good thing I didn't spend $ on replacement parts for the old one. This bath bench is also a wonderful value and Amazon gave me free shipping (LOVE YOU AMAZON!!!) I'm very happy!

Bath Bench Too Large for Residential Shower Jan 04, 2008
By Wanda This bath bench is supposed to be a universal size but is too large for a residential shower. Size was not included in the description. The bench is an excellent product (very strong, height is adjustable)but is 21 inches long and 18 inches wide and takes up half the shower. I wish I could have used it.

Stable & Trustworthy! Aug 28, 2007

I bought the stool when I was recovering from foot surgery and couldn't stand well. I looked at them at a local store first and this was the one recommended, then I bought it online. It's very stable, no concerns about tipping. I'm a heavy woman (over 200 lbs) and it feels fine. I have a 3/4 tub and it fits fine. There is no back to it, it's very simple. But I'm still using it as it's great when I need to shave my legs or work on my feet in the shower. And there is room for both the stool and me in the shower, I just leave it inside. It stays very clean, it's not susceptible to mold and mildew.

My mother is over-weight and has problems standing for very long. I bought this chair and it is awesome for her to use. It is very sturdy, and easy to put together compaired to the other one I purchased.
